Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation SPF15

Shade: 5 Medium [pink tone]

Wearing Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in 5 Medium

As you may have discovered from reading my previous come-back post last year I became a mommy to my gorgeous son who has turned one year this month, time truly flies. Being a full-time mother has decreased my beauty indulgence time quite significantly and as I have only limited time to get ready these days this has been my go-to foundation in the past six months. So I decided what could be a better first beauty come-back blog than a luscious foundation.

First things first. Way before mommy days I have been a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury beauty range. I particularly love her eyeshadow palette and the Rock'N'Kohl eyeliner. Charlotte Tilbury's beauty products are fail-proof to me and especially when I have very little time to get ready this Light Wonder foundation is the perfect option.

Texture-wise it's a light-weight foundation with a slight luminosity that creates a youthful glow on the skin. At the moment my skin is in desperate need of a good exfoliation routine, but even so you can see that the foundation sits very natural yet provides enough day-to-day coverage. A major plus point for me is that the foundation washes off very easily, which means washing the foundation brush takes hardly any time!

One thing I would advice on is that it seems the 5 Medium shade is the most popular hence it is actually sold out on the Charlotte Tilbury website, I might be wrong but I think that the sales people at the CT beauty counters seem to recommend this shade most to women with my complexion. When the CT beauty counter at Selfridges was first launched I went to check it out and was given the 7 Medium to try, and it was a perfect shade for me although I must say in the winter-days I do have to fake tan for it to look natural with the rest of the body. But the yellow-tone and the actual shade is incredibly flattering.

When I went to buy the foundation at Brent Cross CT beauty counter I was recommended 5 Medium by the salesgirl. I find that the Selfridges CT beauty counter has always the best salespeople that give you a great advice and a truly helpful, so if you need an advice this is the right place to get it! I explained that I need a yellow-tone and that this 5 Medium seems to have a pink base in it. She was convinced that 5 Medium is yellow-tone and that anything above would be way too dark for me. Having recently found those 7 Medium samples I actually regret listening to the salesgirl as the 7 Medium is a much better match for my complexion. Next time I will re-purchase this foundation it will definitely be the 7 Medium, it has that sexy St.Tropez tone which makes the rest of the make-up look even more beautiful.

V-Day Beauty Look: Brigitte Bardot

WAB Wild About Beauty Nutrilips Colour Lipstick in 08 Caroline

For the application I used realTechniques Retractable Lip Brush,
which I love throwing in my handbag and always have on hand for retouching.

Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Deep Black

I was thinking to myself should I pull out the red lipstick and go for the classic look this V-Day, but then I decided to bring out my alter ego Brigitte Bardot and keep it nice and nude. A smokey eye and a nude lip is always a winner in my beauty-book. On the eyes I used MAC Haux eyeshadow all over and then blended in a touch of MAC Folie into the socket. The legendary Brigitte Bardot feline flick + the black waterline frames the eye beautifully allowing the rest of the make-up to be pretty nude and natural.

For the feline flick I used Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Deep Black [which I am currently obsessed with! - an intense black that dries matte] and for the waterline I had to go for my favourite kohl liner Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black. And on the lips I used a lipstick which is pretty new to me, Wild About Beauty Nutrilips Colour in 08 Caroline. It's a gorgeous pinky nude and the texture is beautifully smooth and lightweight, leaving your lips look nourished and perfectly kissable.

V-Day All-Rounder: Beauty + Hair + Nails!

 Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick

Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick in Rose Amethyst [discontinued]
a similar shade would be:
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Long Lasting Crystal Lipstick in MOD Pink

BarryM Gelly Hi-Shine in Passion Fruit

Hey Beauty Lovers! If you are not sure what to do with your hair, what kind of make-up look to go for or what colour to paint your nails for the up-coming V-Day here is my suggestion: go for something pretty and innocent with a sexy edge! As a rule wearing too strong colours on the face for a date is not recommended, guys don't like too much make-up. So if you keep everything subtle and soft you than can bust out bright nails, which adds the sexy element to this innocent soft look. Do something cute with your hair, don't over work it yet do put some effort into it. This hair style opens up your face and regardless of what weather it is on the V-Day, you will still look sexy/cute! This entire look would go with a casual outfit or a tip-to-toe black number.

Beauty: This look is all about eyes so the rest is kept neutral. To create this smokey eye I have used Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick palette, applying the 2.Enhance eyeshadow shade all over and under the lower lashes and 3.Smoke just into the outer V and also under blending it under the lower lashes. Then I took Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl eyeliner in Bedroom Black and smudged the hard edges with the eyeshadow. And for the lips I chose Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick in Rose Amethyst just because it's a very special lipstick to me and I only pull it out on very special occasions. This lipstick was unfortunately discontinued, but any nude pink with a subtle shimmer will do. A similar shade from the core collection would be Estee Lauder Pure Colour Long Lasting Crystal Lipstick in MOD Pink.

Hair: Although this hair style looks quite elaborate it's actually very simple to create. To begin with separate hair into two halves each side. Then separate each side into three, do it softly so that you don't have harsh partings. Then loosely braid every part so that you end up with three thin braids on each side. Then take all the braids and pull them back and gently cross them over as though attempting to tie a knot, hiding the ends inside the cross over. Then you will needs lots of bobby pins to secure every braid into place so that it feels quite solid and won't fall apart.

And finally Nails: I'm absolutely obsessed with this BarryM Gelly Hi-Shine nailpolish in Passion Fruit. It's super bright almost a neon coral, and looks ah-mazing on every skin tone, pale or tanned! It's also one of those bright colours that you can absolutely wear both in the summer and winter, it brings the whole outfit together giving it that daring and sexy pop of colour.

Quick Smokey Eye with Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon!

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon, colour-morphing eyeshadow pencil in Amber Haze
& Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl, iconic liquid eye pencil in Bedroom Black
+ Charlotte Tilbury Pencil Sharpener

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze

Hey Beauty Lovers! Slowly expanding my Charlotte Tilbury beauty collection I have made a new purchase, and this is my latest addition. Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencil comes in eight shades to suit every eye-colour. The shade I picked up Amber Haze is actually recommended for brown eyes, but obviously bronze shades look stunning on blue eyes, making them pop, so experiment a little and don't feel like you have to stick to certain colours! Colour Chameleons can be worn without a base, applied straight to the lid, and blended with a finger in the back of a cab, that's how easy they are to use. But under normal circumstances I prefer to apply them over a neutral base as I find them a little sticky feeling on my eyelids without the base. Once you apply them, they stay put - super long-lasting with or without base, they are also very smooth and blend beautifully.

I have been wearing this exact smokey eye for the last four days in a row, that says a lot. This smokey eye is super effortless, very quick to create for those who are in a hurry and looks beautiful. So when I have practically no time for make-up, and have to be out in 10 minutes looking presentable I go for this smokey eye which involves just two products: Colour Chameleon [in Amber Haze] + Rock 'N' Kohl [in Bedroom Black]. The actual smokey eye takes no more than five minutes, which is amazing as it looks like you spent a lot more time.

So to create this look, after I prep my eyelids I then quickly apply the Amber Haze eyeshadow straight from the pencil onto the lid and under the lower lashes. Taking Sonia Kashuk blending brush I quickly blend the hard edges and apply the Bedroom Black eyeliner winging it slightly and also taking it under the lower lash-line connecting the ends for that feline flick. I make sure to blend the Bedroom Black with Amber Haze for a softer look, using the Sigma pencil brush. And that is literally it!

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Rock Chick!

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Rock Chick

Chanel Rouge Allure in 217 Radieuse

Hey Beauty Lovers! Last week I went to Selfridges to check out Charlotte Tilbury counter and to get one of her legendary Colour Chameleon, Colour Morphing Eye Shadow Pencils. And while I was there I also got a few samples of the Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation in shades 3Fair and 4Fair, which I was colour-matched to, so I'm excited to try them out.  Also I had another look at The Rock Chick palette that I was considering getting for a while and finally got it. And I'm so happy I did! I already have The Dolce Vita  palette and absolutely love it! Although her eyeshadow palettes are quite pricey [£38] they are worth every penny.

To create this chic Rock Chick smokey eye I applied MAC Paints in Sublime Nature as a primer, then all over the lid I blended the 2Enhance shade also taking it under the lower lash line. To add dimension I applied the 3Smoke shade into the outer v and under the lower lashes. Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black is the perfect match for this look, I always blend it with the eyeshadows for a softer look.

Next step is optional depending on the occasion, but for some extra decadence I put my finger into the 4Pop shade as Charlotte suggests and then gently pushed it into the middle of the lid. To finish I applied a touch of the 1Prime shade onto my brow-bone as a highlighter. When I wear greys on my eyes I prefer to team it up with a nude pink lip, this combo tends to look super chic. I'm wearing Chanel Rouge Allure in 217 Radieuse.

A Pick-Me-Up Lip & Fave Eyeshadow of the Moment!

Stila Countless Colour Pigments in Encore
Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black
Topshop Lip Stick in Hedonist

Hey Beauty Lovers! This is the look I wore today, I haven't worn a bright lip in a very long time. An über bright lipstick can be a true pick-me-up in the winter. If you keep the rest of the makeup neutral there is nothing wrong with wearing a super intense lip colour. Topshop Lip Stick in Hedonist is an almost neon matte orange red. Before I wear a matte lipstick I tend to thoroughly exfoliate my lips, then the matte lipstick goes on beautifully.

For the eyes I used Stila Countless Colour Pigment in Encore, which is my go-to eyeshadow of the moment. There is just something about it that makes it a very pretty nude eyeshadow shade with a satin finish. I just swirl the brush in all the colours except for the lightest and apply it all over the lid as well as under the lower lashes.

For an extra dimension I like the Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black, it's a soft black. This eyeliner is as soft as butter so be careful how you place it as it dries really quickly and will last untouched until you are ready to take it off. I love wearing it in my waterline as it isn't too intense for this type of look and also lasts forever without transferring.

New Years Eve Chic Sparkly Black Smokey Eye!

Clockwise:
Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Slik Gilding Highlighter,
Chanel Powder Blush in 84 Accent,
Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black,
MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline,
Cosmetics a la Carte Plump & Prime lip base,
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 8 Pink in Confidence
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 85 Marifique.

Hey Beauty Lovers! New Years Eve is almost there, just one day left and this is the look I came up with that I will be wearing. It's important to start with the outfit, depending on what you will be wearing you can then create a fitting beauty look that will be in tune with the style. I have decided to keep it chic and wear a black dress, but because it's a rather special night I have also gone for a bit of sparkle. Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 85 Mirifique is the perfect match, as it's a black cream/mousse textured eyeshadow with lots and lots of black and silver fine glitters! It is a stunning shade, I'd highly recommend it!

So to create this rather stunning smokey eye I have first applied a base, I find the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadows sit much better when applied over a base. In this case I used the MAC Paints in Sublime Nature [a neutral shade], over the top I layered a generous amount of Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Marifique. If you prefer a sheer look one layer will be enough, but I repeating this step twice as I was going for a more pigmented look, and it also makes the eyeshadow last much longer. Then for extra definition I have lined the lid with MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline, which is a very intense black, blending it with the eyeshadow. And on the waterline and under the lower lashes I applied the Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl  Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black, which is a soft black and it's absolutely smudge-proof, it will last a whole night without transferring under the eyes.

Because the eyes are so intense I chose Chanel Powder Blush  in 84 Accent [a must-have], it's the most gorgeous bronzy shimmery shade, very natural and warm. And of course I wanted my skin to look fresh and glowy, so I added a touch of Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Skin Gilding Highlighter, it can be used on the face and body, so I applied it on the top of my cheek-bones and also highlighted my collarbone! And as for the lip I wanted to keep it nude-ish with a touch of pink and quite light. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 8 Pink in Confidence, is perfect for this type of look as it is super moisturising and really lightweight and sheer. To make it also last longer I applied it over the Cosmetics a la Carte Plump & Prime lip base, which makes any lipstick look even better!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in So Marilyn

Hey Beauty Lovers! Hope you had a lovely Christmas, lots of delicious guilt-free food and warming and rich mulled wine, and of course lots of cute presents! And now it's time to start thinking about the outfits and beauty looks we will be wearing for New Years Eve! I will be creating a few beauty looks, as this is when make-up can look rather special and we can spend extra 20 mins perfecting every brush stroke of beauty genius... This look is inspired by stunning The Bombshell beauty look that Charlotte Tilbury recreated in her latest vid.

The Bombshell is that Tom Fordian sexy glammed up yet modern stunning beauty look that  makes you feel and look rather a-mazing. So here we go... First I applied the Prime shade of The Dolce Vita palette, then mixing the Prime and the lightest touch of Enhance, I defined the socket and smoked it out under the lower lashes. The main focus in this look are the luscious red lips so the eyes don't carry too much colour but for extra drama dab your finger gently into the sparkly Pop shade and just push it into the middle of the lid.

Then using the Bedroom Black eyeliner, which is named fittingly as it's not an intense black but more of a slept-in type of black, and it stays put until you are ready to take it off, really great lasting power! I also applied it into my waterline, and it didn't smudge under my eyes whatsoever! As for the lip I also used the same lipstick shade as Charlotte did, the So Marilyn! It's absolutely gorgeous, an über glamorous retro red! And finally I applied Charlotte's Bar of Gold on the top of my cheekbones and temples as well as on the bridge of the nose and also on my collarbone! It looks stunning on the collarbone, super glam!

Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Inspired Look!

To see how I create this Fall Metallic Ombre nail look click here!

Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita palette

Hey Beauties! If you haven't read my blogpost about meeting Charlotte Tilbury at her beauty range launch in Selfridges click here! The Dolce Vita palette is what I really wanted to get as my first Charlotte Tilbury piece of beauty even before I got there! Meeting her was such a lovely experience, to me she is an icon within the beauty artistry. I was wearing a smokey eye I created using the YSL Marrakesh Sunset palette [Summer 2013 Collection], which she really liked and said my smokey eye looked 'amazing' - coming from your idol it's  THE best compliment ever!!!! When I told Charlotte I wanted to get a palette from her 10 Iconic looks, she instantly recommended The Dolce Vita, [yay] I knew it was meant to be!

You can see Charlotte Tilbury creating all of the 10 Iconic Looks on her YouTube channel. Here is how I created The Dolce Vita smokey eye: I always start with a base, MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork is great for this look. Then I applied the brown shade [bottom right - 3.smoke] all over the lid, blending in the coppery shade [top right - 2.enhance] into the socket and over the lid. Mixing the two colours I also applied them under the lower lash line, smoking it out. Then I took the decadent antique gold sparkles [bottom left - 4.pop] just in the middle of the lid and socket to create that trail of sparkles. And finally I applied the cream [top left - 1.prime] on the brow bone to highlight and lift the area. For extra depth I also used a kohl eyeliner smudging it into the eyeshadow. The eyeshadows are stunning, the texture feels like velvet, very luxurious and beautifully pigmented!!

Hey Beauties! Last night I decided to drop by at Selfridges and check out Charlotte Tilbury beauty range launch. Meeting Charlotte Tilbury herself and talking about her wonderful beauty products was such an amazing experience. Charlotte is super lovely and of course very passionate about all things beauty. It was incredibly inspirational to meet her and see her beauty range. I must admit although I love Tom Ford with passion, Charlotte Tilbury's beauty station and the beauty counter are my all time favourite in the entire world. The 10 Iconic Looks is such a fun concept, you get to turn the wheel and see which look you are, and you can even try it on. The sale assistants at Charlotte Tilbury counter are super friendly and helpful, I got to chat to a couple of them as well.

Although I didn't turn the wheel, funnily enough it was already on The Dolce Vita look when I got there, and that is the eye look I wanted to try most. When I told Charlotte I wanted to get a palette, she looked at me and said 'you'd look gorgeous' in The Dolce Vita palette, it was meant to be! You can see how to create the stunning 10 Iconic Looks on Charlotte Tilbury's YouTube channel by clicking here! And to see her entire beauty range visit her website where you can also shop(!): www.charlottetilbury.com

Charlotte gave me her legendary Charlotte's Magic Cream to try, so I will do a separate review soon! The entire range looks beautiful, so many pretty things, and it is really hard to choose, if I could I'd probably have all of them! I love the packaging, it's decadent, luxurious with a touch of glamorous vintage, just like Charlotte's style. I absolutely adore all of her eyeshadow palettes, the beautiful blushes, and to die for lipsticks, which if I could I'd also have every single shade of! I did get The Dolce Vita palette [of course], so will do a gorgeous smokey eye with it soon. The eyeshadow shades and textures are just stunning!
