Strong Eye & Lip Trend...

 nails: Essie Good As Gold

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon
Maybelline Colour Tattoo Gel-Cream Eyeshadow in Eternal Gold
Bourjois Mono Eyeshadown in 16 - they seriously need to start naming their eyeshadows!
Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Superblack

...And we are back to sporadic London summer weather! One minute it's sunny, the next it goes all dark and grey and starts pouring down, raining cats and dogs like there is no tomorrow... But I am still reminiscing about those balmy evenings and goldy sunsets... And so I got inspired by the beautiful warm colour-scheme for this look and went to boots to see what I could find... I picked up Essie Good As Gold [will do a separate blog post on it], which I absolutely love - and also Maybelline Eternal Gold an Bourjois in 16, which is a beautiful burned amber... And for lips I decided to wear the most luscious red lipstick I own - Chanel Dragon! The texture of Chanel Rouge Allure Laque is smooth and liquid but incredibly pigmented... Absolutely adore this fabulous little dragon...

Sports Trend...

80s inspiration...

No, that does not mean we should start working out, although we probably should... Eventhough it's the Olympics and we Londoners are encouraged to do some sort of activities, which unfortunately does not include getting up from your desk, and carrying coffee-weight back to the desk... Personally I have nothing to do with the Olympics apart from having to tolerate this insane traffic and the rest of the malarkey...  For me nowadays going to the gym ought to be one of the dullest things to do... First of all I don't have time, and if I do then I'd much rather go for a beautiful walk at the Heath or do yoga at home, where no one would irritate you with their garlic breath or dirty feet... So yes I'm not really into sports, apart from occasional swimming in a nice spa pool followed by an even nicer massage, or skying interrupted by awesome off-piste lunches in the sunshine looking out onto the stunning mountains...

The Sports Trend makes sense this year obviously but I can't say I have seen one piece sofar that I loved to incorporate in my outfits... Therefore I'm not really taking it serious... But what I do like for casual wear is those sports shorts that were pretty popular in the 80s... As a kid I loved them too, I had like five pairs... Those were however more of a tight fitting version, which I don't think we will be doing any time soon... The pair I'm wearing in the pics is slightly baggy... I got them at Calzedonia, they are this beautiful bright grasshopper green... The funny thing is when I walked into the store, they were staring right at me, but I thought they might be too baggy... But I was told they were kids beach shorts, age 14! It's the biggest kids size they had, so I went and tried them on, they were perfect! So if you are a petite adult with a little meat on you they'll fit you!

What Did Meme Do Next...

Meme wore:
Zara Denim Skort [skirt & shorts in one]
Topshop Beaded Cross Necklaces
Chanel Ceramic Watch

Loving this whole grunge bohemian thing right now...
The very chunky ring with oval black stone: Claire's
[it's coming out in the first week of August]
...for make-up look I went with Vamp Chic - see previous blog post...

bad ass shoe... Heaton ankle grip platforms by KG

This beautiful dish is from Zara Home, I found it at their dishes section...
So I believe you can serve food in it...
I serve rings...

Here is the star of the programme... The reason I went to Zara Home... The soap dish!
It's a beautiful shell, rimmed with silver metal and it's got little teal stones on both ends...
I finally have a beautiful way to display my Lush soaps,
which I need to get more of as I am clearly running out...

No, Zara Home does not sell cats, yet!
This velvet orange cushion found a new home, I needed a bright spot on my bed,
as I have predominantly white sheets, and it's a beautiful burned orange...

Mr Barney got a new toy too,
although he is the nine year old senior fluff ball, he's still a baby at heart...
My baby boy is loving his new rattle teddy...

...this white ceramic jar, which has a woven texture, was in their bath section,
could be used for toothbrushes or anything really... I decided my dry rose bouquet will move to this jar for now... I love the shape of it as well, it starts off as a square at the bottom and then becomes round at the top...

Skincare: Chanel Ultra Correction Lift Serum, not only does it lift but it looks great too,
I love displaying it on my little round mood table...
Fragrance: This summer I have been Enjoying the L'Eau de Chloe...

...this was sold as a drinking glass, it's plastic and got that 3D illusion effect...
I loved the adorable funny-face pup, and decided it would hold my painting brushes...

This antique looking candlelight holder I got last week, also at Zara Home, naturally...

...beautifully decorated Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat's home in Brooklyn NY...

Meme went to Zara Home again, which she shouldn't have done! Oops too late... I literally shouldn't be allowed to enter this fabulous space... Yesterday I just took a brief walk in Hampstead, having dragged myself out of bed in the late hour as I had to have my beauty sleep after staying up very late the night before, I decided it was time to drop by and get that soap dish I have been eyeing for a while... Uhu... It didn't end there... They still have the sale going on, and some pieces have been marked down even further... I just love doing that kind of thing on a weekend, browsing home décor stuff... When it comes to home décor, my biggest icons are Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat, the photographer and fashion designer's decadent home in Brooklyn NY is so inspiring to me...The way one decorates their can reveal a lot about the person... Their character, creativity, spirituality shines through the pieces they choose to live with... I love that vintage bohemian style, to me it represents comfort, softness, beauty, chicness...

[All the home décor pieces I have featured including the toy are from Zara Home]

Vampy Chic...

...wearing Chanel ceramic watch,
which I have been really loving this summer!

Beaded Cross Necklaces: Topshop

Chunky Ring with Oval Black Stone: Claire's
[coming out first week of August]

Finally I got around to play with MAC Cranberry eyeshadow I purchased a while ago together with Antiqued and Coppering [read more here: MAC Pro Colour x 4 Compact...], which have become my top favourite eyeshadows, ever... I though Cranberry might have too much cold pink undertones for me... But it ended up being such a beautiful vampy velvet colour... It's perfect for that dark chic look... Cranberry made my grey eyes look almost green, this colour would be amazing for making green eyes pop, just like Coppering for blue eyes... I love taking it quite far down under my lower lashes and the inner-corner for extra drama...

With this look I love wearing Nars Sin blush [plummy colour with gold shimmer], not only is the colour perfect but so is the name... And as for lips, I applied Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout as recommended by Lisa Eldridge, and Lancome Piha Black lipgloss over it, it's a black with silver/black sparkles... I had this lipgloss in my collection for ages and couldn't make it work on me, but finally found a way to wear it and it looks stunning in real life... This limited edition Color Fever Gloss was created by Aaron de Mey, the fantastic makeup artist... Piha Blac was inspired by the black volcanic sands of Piha Beach in Aaron de Mey's native New Zealand... Isn't it just fabulous... Stunning little thing...

Vince Camuto Simona Wedges...

Toes: Essie Mojito Madness

Beaded cross necklaces: Topshop

I am quite enjoying these Russell & Bromley by Vince Camuto Simona wedges... I loved the studs on the heels, makes a strong statement... The front shape reminds of 50s and it's really flattering... The mix of the modern and the retro makes it a nice combo... These wedges look cute with a long/short skirt, pants, dresses, or even shorts... Here I'm wearing Zara orange shorts with a navy tank top and couple of beaded cross necklaces... This outfit is really casual and perfect for the hot summer days we had... And I also like that the wedges are tan, you can throw a tan shoe into any outfit, colour-wise it would go equally well with bright splashes or for the colder autumn days with pale or black they would look awesome too!

Grunge Jewellery...

Lipstick: Topshop Firecracker

I really love these, they come in perfect as I am currently obsessed with skulls and crosses, they are Claire's and will be coming out in the first week of August!

These grunge pair of skulls are the longest earrings in my collection, no doubt... They are really light weight tho, do not be scared of the metal amount, the pieces are hollow... I quite like the look when wearing them with hair down, they kind of get mingled in my hair and here and there show a cross or two... Outfit-wise I went with a neon tank top and black layered short skirt, the fabric is nice and floaty, so it's perfect for bare legs or if it would get colder again, I'll just throw on some black tights and wear it that way... I really like clothes that I can wear all year round, they are more fun to work with, you can style them diffrently and transform the look entirely...

Chanel Pop-Up Beauty Boutique...

the Chanel humble beauty throne, no need for booking and you can try the beauty products all you want, et voilà!

Uhu(!) Baba is watching me!

Ta Da(!) and here is the self-service nail bar!
you can paint all your nails any colour you want...

Ha! can you see my smile?! Uff this is a heaven for a nail polish addict like me...

Yay Chanel Holiday nail polish! My favourite Chanel nail colour this summer...

...mirror mirror on the wall, what's the pretties colour of them all...

basement: and here is the beauty cellar, that's where all the magic happens...

Chanel make-up artist doing what he does best, making someone look fabulous...

Karl Lagerfeld's new Chanel beauty boutique just opened this week on Tuesday, right in the heart of Old Covent Garden Market... It's a beauty heaven, I was so excited to go and check it out myself! I had no idea where exactly it was, so thank you Burberry for pointing the right direction... The lovely store manager and assistant gave me a little tour du jour of the boutique and the nail bar! Yes you heard it right, there is a nail bar! You can paint your nails any colour you want, and the choice is hu-uge...

You will also find stairs leading to the basement, I call it the beauty cellar where you can find customers being made-up by Chanel leading make-up artists, it all feels like Chanel backstage before the models hit the catwalk... But be worn - you will need to book the consultation in advance, there is a massive, and I mean super huge security boy, I call him Baba... He is a serious man! I was glad the manager personally told him I was allowed to take pics, but still I was under his eye... Apart from the gaze Baba looks so huggable, but I wouldn't recommend attempting that at any point, ha! He's quite a character, definitely is a big part of the store...

There will be events happening throughout the next seven months, which you have to book quite a bit in advance... It is a pop-up store so it's there only till December...  There also will be exclusive new products, which will launch at the boutique... So if you are a beauty-lover you got to check out this Chanel beauty space! It was a very enjoyable experience, it felt like walking through an art gallery filled with luxurious installations... I know that I will be definitely coming back for more and Baba!
