New Givenchy Dahlia Noir L'Eau Review!

Here is another wonderful addition to my fragrance collection! Givenchy Dahlia Noir L'Eau [launched this April] is the new version of the original Dahlia Noir [released in 2011]. As you can see it has been loved, it's a concoction of sun and fresh floral breeze, beautifully reflecting the spirit of the sunny spring and summer! The fragrance opens with the slightly bitter citrus Chypre ending with a Musky tail and in-between you get a floral fusion of rose and patchouli. Dahlia Noir L'Eau is modern, sophisticated, yet full of character. I'd certainly put it into the sexy category. Having enjoyed it this spring I am happily taking it into the summer!

A Soft Brown Eyelook with Givenchy!

This is the first time I have tried Givenchy eyeshadows, and must say I am pleasantly surprised by their quality... They are nicely pigmented, very smooth and blend perfectly... Givenchy Le Prisme Yeux - Quartuor [eyeshadow palette] is in the shade 76 Siena Silhouette, which is great for smokey eyes and that's what I've gone for! On the pics the peachy eyeshadow shade on the bottom left didn't come out too well, but the rest of the colours look pretty true to life...

To create the look, I applied Benefit cream eyeshadow in Busy Signal as a base, and then that peachy shade went mostly into the inner part of the eyelid, blending the chocolate brown through the socket and outer-corner and also smudging it under the lower lashes to create that smoky effect... I wanted to keep everything warm toned this time, so stayed away from black eyeliner and mascara and instead chose bareMinerals Round The Clock Eyeliner in 7pm [a shimmery chocolate brown] smudging it above the upper lash-line and also on the waterline to intensify the look...

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara in Black Brown is a nice option if you want a softer look... I used this mascara a few times now, it's a bit hard to get off as it is a long-lasting 24 hrs mascara, but I love the dark chocolate brown colour of it and it's the most voluminous and separating mascara I have ever come across... Lipstick - I find Topshop lipsticks to be amazing, the colour range is awesome and the creamy texture is great... The one I'm wearing is the shade Rumour Has It, it's a gorgeous beige nude with very flattering light warm shimmer, this nude has a bit more depth to it and gives you a very sexy lip without having too much or too little colour!

Givenchy Vax'In For Youth Eye Serum...

I just finished my YSL Lisse Expert Advanced eye cream, which I used for something like two years... These products are pretty pricey, but if you think about it, they last such long time that really they are worth it... Now I will be switching to Vax'In full time... But I did use it quite a few times in conjunction with the YSL eye cream... I love the texture, it's exactly how I like my eye cream/serum to be, nice and light... I can't stand heavy or greasy eye products, they just feel like smearing lard under your eyes, one example is that  super thick Bobbi Brown eye cream... Ugh...

Givenchy Vax'In For Youth Eye Serum is a 15 ml pump bottle, which I love because YSL eye cream had not the greatest packaging, the eye cream was sometimes leaking out, wasting product and making mess... So I do love the design of this pump, it feels heavy and luxurious and looks pretty sleek too! As for the product, like I said I love the silky texture and for me it's moisturising enough... The reviews I read are fantastic... According to Marie Claire this product is meant to be 'science in the bottle, helping your skin to produce its own age-defying protein to combat wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness'... Good enough for moi!
