SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque!

Hey Beauty Lovers! As far as a clay facial goes this one gets top points! SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque has deep purifying properties without that super drying and pulling of the skin, which clay masques are renowned for. This clay masque however feels very gentle on the skin while lifting impurities and declogging pores leaving the skin look polished and clear. I have an oily/combo skin type that is also acne prone, and generally clay facials tend to break me out as they pull all the impurities to the surface, however I have no break-outs to report after this clay masque!

Natural earth clay is combined with a hydroxy acid, together they work on exfoliating the skin and balancing the oils. A large almond size is enough to cover the face and neck thinly, leave it to dry for 10-15 minutes then gently wash off with a face cloth and warm water. This clay facial masque was designed for all skin types and can be used up to two times a week.

Summer Morning Skincare for Oily/Combo and Blemish Prone Skin!

Hello Beauties, I've haven't blogged for a bit and really have missed it. I celebrated my big birthday, tho still feeling like 25 over and over and over. As I desperately needed a bit of a break, next day I woke up with a full blown flu and some irritation on my eyelids, so I haven't worn make-up in days and just now starting to recover, so that's why you haven't heard from me for a while.

I decided to update my skincare routine as it is summer, and those of us with oily/combo skin type get even oilier and pores tend to get blocked and spots and blemishes go slightly out of control. I used to have acne for years so I'm very careful with my skincare, and even though I only get a spot here and there now I still make sure to look after my skin thoroughly and not provoke any breakouts. Hot summer weather can be terrible for oily skin so I find I need problem focused skincare products.

This is my current morning skincare routine:
I start by taking off my night skincare with Vichy Purete Thermale 3in1 Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution. I lost count how many bottles I've been through, as soon as I run out I get a new one, I find it's very gentle and a great make-up remover and cleanser. It's really soothing and great for sensitive skin and eyes. Then for my eyes I like to use Avene Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover for sensitive eyes, although I use Vichy on my eyes most mornings too, I sometimes like the additional fresh and cooling effect of the gel texture on my eyelids.

For the face, depending how my skin is feeling, if I don't have spots I cleanse my face with Vichy Purifying Foaming Water, Skin Radiance Revealer. It removes the impurities and restores skin radiance and freshness. However if I do have a spot on the radar I always wash my face with SkinCeuticals Blemish+Age Cleansing Gel, which is a decongesting cleanser for aging skin and imperfections [anything after 28 is aging in my book]. Also when ever I use this type of cleanser I always wash it off with one of those facial sponges, they give you extra bit of exfoliation. And I also like to follow up with the tonic from the same range, SkinCeuticals Blemish+Age Solution. It comes in a spray bottle, you just spray couple of times onto a cotton ball.

Then I apply Liz Earle Daily Eye Repair, which is a SPF10 Triple Eye Care with Echinacea, Borage and natural Vitamin E and Avene Cleanance K Cream-Gel over my face, which is a exfoliating moisturiser. And then do my make up or if go straight under the sun then I apply a heafty SPF like Sensai Silky Bronze Sun Protective Cream for Face SPF50, which I will blog about separately. Also I find that my lips tend to dehydrate during summer, so I use the DHC Lip Cream throughout the day topping with the spf. This routine seems to get things back on track even if I do get a few spots right at the beginning of changing climate etc after a few days my skin starts to clear up again.

SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel and Solution Review!

Hey beauties hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend! I have had a super busy week and really looking forward to unwind and enjoy some lazy time... I should also have a bit more time to write quite a few blogposts... Without a further ado here is the fantastic skincare I have mentioned a while ago! This is what I have been using to get my acne under control, which got out of hand again in January... SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age range is great for my type of skin, which is combo/oily, acne prone, and as I am turning 30 [gasp] this summer the anti-ageing aspect of this skincare range is also vital!

I have been using the Cleansing Gel and the Solution [tonic] for a few months now... My skin started reacting to these two products roughly after about a month... You are meant to use the cleanser and tonic on your face and neck twice a day... I have however noticed after about 2-3 weeks that was too much for my skin, although my skin type is combo/oily it tends to get dehydrated during the winter, especially this year when the weather has been so cold for so long here in London... And so it was too much for my neck, which started to feel slightly irritated and extremely dehydrated... So I just continued using the cleanser in the morning on the face and neck and tonic morning and evening just on the face not taking it down my neck... A few days later after intensely hydrating my sensitive neck skin with moisturisers it got back to normal...

The results are incredible, my acne break out was mostly concentrated on the lower cheeks and on the chin... After about two months the texture of my skin visibly became smoother and a lot more clear all over the face... And the areas where the acne used to be concentrated also cleared up completely, I haven't had a spot there for a couple of months now, all you can see is just a few tiny scars which are starting to fade slowly... I still get an odd spot here and there but they are not grouped, and generally it is a reaction to some of the skincare products I try, especially if I try a bunch in a short period of time - my skin is guaranteed to misbehave... Now if I get a spot it's mostly on the chin or on the temples, not sure why there but hopefully with time these areas will also completely clear up!

SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel and Solution are great for problematic, congested and photodamaged skin - it exfoliates decongested pores, removes impurities, and softens the skin... Both of the products have Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid, which are great for unclogging pores and removing dead skin cells leaving a smoother skin... I find SkinCeuticals to be a very serious skincare brand, the active ingredients visibly improve your skin, generally in quite a dramatic way... For me it's been a miracle to have the lower cheeks clear of acne, an area that has been affected for a few years...
