New Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow + Chanel Bel-Argus

Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in 27 Pink Lagoon

Lip Combo: Revlon 011 Stormy Pink as a base and a touch of Chanel Glossimer in 297

For this Ruffian nail look check out my previous blogpost!

Here are couple of new things from Chanel I have been really loving! This Summer Chanel launched the new Stylo Eyeshadows, which is the eyeshadow version of the Stylo Eyeliner, well sort of, the texture is completely different but the lasting power is equally amazing! The shade I have tried so far is 27 Pink Lagoon, it's super pretty, and although I'm not into pink eyeshadows in general but this one is wearable and a very beautiful metallic shimmery chic! The Stylo Eyeshadow has this cooling sensation, almost like going over your lids with an ice cube, fantastic for summer and any other time of the year when you want something cooling. I don't think it's specifically designed for this effect, but it does feel refreshing when you apply it. And like I already mentioned this one lasted beautifully without a primer.

Also  this summer I have jolly enjoyed the stunning Chanel Nail Colour in 667 Bel-Argus, which is from the Summer 2013 Papillon Collection,  it's a shimmery almost metallic blue that speaks for itself - it looks like a stunning butterfly wing! Another Chanel product I have really been into lately is the Glossimer in 297, I'm not sure but I think it's from the previous collection, it's a super pretty nude lipgloss with a very flattering gold shimmer! I am wearing it for this look over Revlon Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink. 297 looks beautiful over a range of pinky and nude lipsticks!

Ruffian Manicure: 2013 Nail Art Trend

Topshop Nails in Glimmer

BeYu in 318

Obsessed with these MDG Knuckle Rings!

Middle Finger: Silver Stacking Rings
Index Finger: Silver Classic Knuckle Ring

Ruffian manicure, also known as reversed French manicure, is a very chic way of wearing black nail polish. When I googled Ruffian manicure, the combo that I liked most was the black and the gold. For this look I pulled out my only black nailpolish, which is also the only black nailpolish I own - I got it in Hamburg few years ago on my travels: BeYu in 318. It's great quality and very pigmented.

To create this look I applied two coats of Topshop Nails in Glimmer, which is a metallic antique gold shade all over the nail plate, this is the easiest method. Over the top leaving a thin line of the gold at the bottom showing through I applied another two coats of my black nailpoolish. Black & Gold Ruffian manicure looks awesome when the black has a matte over coat, but equally I like it with a glossy topcoat. I'm not great at detailed nail art but this one was actually very easy to recreate!

Pinkish Nude Lip Combo: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout + Topshop Lips in Rumour Has It

Hey Beauties! Here is a look I wore that kind of was inspired by chilled out summer's day... Although I have been sporting lots of dark-ish smokey eye since I have changed my hair style, yes(!) I actually had half of the length cut off and I'm also getting my heavy fringe shaped into light side bangs! Quiet a drastic move but I wanted a change after wearing long hair for like seven years and the full on fringe I was stuck with that really wasn't flexible, there was only one way I could wear it, and after a while I felt like it was hiding to much of my face. But I am absolutely loving having shorter and lighter hair now, it feels fresh and more chic. With new hair there is of course new make-up. I love playing around and finding new beauty looks to suit my new hair.

And so I decided to create a pastel look, still keeping the black liner but the rest pretty light. Nars Single Eyeshadow in D. Gorgeous is a very pretty sheer matte lilac and it's from the Spring 2010 Collection. Matte eyeshadows aren't the easiest to work with especially when it comes to a lighter colour, but D. Gorgeous is smooth and blends beautifully, and of course since it is very sheer it's not a scary shade but actually a very flattering. Apparently Rihanna wore Nars D. Gorgeous eyeshadow to 2010 Clive Davis Pre-Grammys Party. As D.Gorgeous is a sheer matte it needs a nice base to come through nicely, I wore it over MAC Paint Pot in Nubile, which is a barely there nude shade with a light satin shimmer.

For a blush I applied Nars Gaiety which is from last years Spring [2012] Collection. I own a few beautiful bubblegum bright pink blushes including my favourite Dior Rosy Glow in Petal, but Gaiety is also very pretty. It is also quite sheer, but you can build up the pigmentation easily by layering the product. Gaiety looks almost matte in the pan but actually it has a finely-milled satin finish that creates a beautiful natural glow.

Although I'm decided to wear this pastel look with a pink nude lip to keep everything soft, I will still quickly mention my love for the Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Mexican Rose [also from Spring 2010 Collection] - I wore it none stop for almost a week! That says a lot. It has been my 'it' lipstick this summer, I have no idea what it is about this shade but it's literally amazing! It's a stain lip products so I've been wearing to dinners, beaches, lunches, day and night basically without taking it off, it needs a little touch up after about five hours, but even then you still don't end up looking like you swallowed your lipstick with your meal. I had so many compliments when I wore Mexican Rose that I usually get for MAC Ruby Woo - so it's in that league! I will definitely create a separate look to showcase how stunning Mexican Rose is!

And finally, I have mentioned before that I have discovered Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, which I had two small samples of. This is the full size, in the shade Light6 Ceylan. This foundation requires a lot of blending and I prefer applying it with my beloved RealTechniques Expert Face Brush. It has a medium coverage and I like the way it feels and looks on my combo/oily skin. And it lasts beautifully! If you are new to my blog I always set my liquid foundations with Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Rich Vanilla.

Hey beauties, as you have noticed I haven't posted in a long while, I was extremely busy with a couple of projects I have started working on, which I am very excited about and will soon share with you! Hopefully now I can get back into regular blogging, which I've been missing. So let's go!

Last week I went to a wonderful press event which represented the brand itself and their new launch of the Collection Métal. This was the first time I was introduced to Atelier Cologne fragrances. If you've been read my blog for a while you'll know I have a real soft spot for fragrances, particularly for decadent and opulent fragrances. It was a privilege to meet the founders of Atelier Cologne, Sylvie Ganter and Christophe Cervasela who fell in love and decided to create this brand together.

The Story of this brand is beautiful because love and fragrance are dependent on one another, there can't be love without fragrance and there can't be fragrance without love. What also makes the brand special is that they are the first fragrance house that is dedicated purely to the legendary perfumery classic: the cologne! Cologne is a fragrance of the previous generations, known as very pungent and almost over-powering, however Sylvie and Christophe managed to keep the essence of the classic and make it modern.

It was a very hot evening, right in the heart of London, Liberty third floor, the fans were on full... As soon as they begun to spray the fragrances onto the paper sticks, the cologne would expand into the space and hit you immediately as the fans blew it into your direction. Every time a new fragrance was introduced it was something out of Alice in Wonderland, a modern version of magic.

Atelier Cologne fragrances are composed with luxurious notes, which is what makes your mind devour the fragrance and immediately you find yourself on a journey trying to discover what notes are sweeping you off your feet. It is an amazing experience, something very very special indeed. All of the fragrances are uni-sex, which I am a total sucker for I love the idea of sharing a fragrances with your beloved.

I must admit there were so many scents that were beautiful but the two that stood out to me most are: Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolute, which is from their first collection, and it is a stunning concoction of precious raw materials, a very mesmerising and incredibly sensual fragrance. And the other one that I also fell in love with and was super happy to open my goodie bag when I got back home and find the mini bottle of it, is - Gold Leather! This fragrance evoked a very strong reaction when it was sprayed at the event. Once it hit you, we just started giggling, a slightly light-headed uplifting almost drunk sensation!

These are the notes: Top notes - bitter orange from Saville, Indian saffron, Jamaican rum; Heart notes - plum, davana from India, eucalyptus from California; Base notes - fraction of gaiae wood from India, fraction of cedarwood from Texas, leather & oud accord. The way the notes are put together you can't instantly figure out what they are, it almost becomes a mind game. This fragrance comes in a real gold flask-like bottle and in two sizes [100ml & 200 ml]. And the mini bottle also has a leather pouch, very luxurious! It's a fantastic gift idea as you can also get the leather pouch personalised by getting it engraved.

Gold Leather is one of the two fragrances from the new Collection Métal launch in September 2013! The other fragrance from this collection is the Silver Iris coming in a silver flask-like bottle. The notes are: Top notes - tangerine from Italy, pink pepper from China, blackcurrant from Burgundy; Heart notes - violet leaves from Grasse, iris Pallida from Tuscany, mimosa from Grasse; Base notes - patchouli from Indonesia, white amber, tonka bean from Brazil. The two fragrances come in two sizes 100 ml at £130 and 200 ml at £200, however with the large bottle you also get that mini travel size bottle and leather pouch for free. There's also soap and candle in this collection to match the Gold Leather and Silver Iris colognes.

Essie Full Steam Ahead - Summer 2013 Collection!

Essie Full Steam Ahead is the final shade I have from the Essie Summer 2013 Collection, and it is also very pretty. It's a lilac with purple, silver, and blue glitters. As I have mentioned before, all the glitters in this collection are very fine and create a pretty light shimmer. They are also a lot easier to take off then a full on glitter nail polish. Full Steam Ahead is described by Essie as: pearlescent punch lilac.

Essie The Girls Are Out - Summer 2013 Collection!

Essie The Girls Are Out is a pretty fuchsia also with glitters as are the most of the other shades from the Essie Summer 2013 Collection. They are fine glitters in multiple colours, in this case what appears to be silver and pink. The glitters are very mild, so they create a subtle shimmer rather than full on glitter sparkles. This colour is described by Essie as: fuchsia peony sparkle.

Essie The More The Merrier from Summer 2013 Collection!

The More The Merrier is the only cream finish non-shimmery colour from the Essie Summer 2013 Collection. It's a fun olive green. Cute shade for those hot sunny days when you want something a little bit more refreshing. Described by Essie as a juicy lime green. Goes perfectly with a Mojito in your hand!

Liz Earle Botanical Essence Eau de Parfum N15!

As far as summer fragrance goes I like either fresh scents during the day and heavier for the evening. Liz Earle Botanical Essence N15 is an evening perfume. This fragrance has such a depth to it, it's beautifully warm and sensual, hence why I'd find it over powering during the day when it's really hot. A beautiful concoction of fifteen most precious botanicals are encapsulated in this sleek looking bottle: Bergamot, Virginian Cedarwood, Patchouli, Guaiacwood, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Cypriol, Siam Benzoin, Damask Rose, Elemi, Cinnamon Leaf, Clove Bud, Pink Pepper, Bourbon Vanilla, and my beloved Vetiver! And for the first time I'm also keeping the box, which is great for travelling - I love the illustration of all the notes that went into this fragrance.

Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette!

It's hard to capture glitters even in day light, but Cocoa Beach, Peach Fuzz, Coral Crush
Chocolate Sun, and Sunbeam all have fine golden glitters in them!

I love how summer fitting this palette is! The cute tin packaging reminds me of the retro make-up! This palette comes with a How-To Glamour Guide suggesting three looks: Day, Classic, Fashion. In the palette there are three base colours, then three on trend shades, and three brown eyeshadows for more depth. Seashell from the Day look and Toasted Coconut from the Fashion look are both matte. Plumeria from Day look and Mermaid from Fashion look are satin, and the rest is glittery. All the eyeshadow shades are really pretty, beauty-look wearing these is coming soon!

Essie Rock The Boat from Summer 2013 Collection!

Another great colour from the Essie Summer 2013 Collection! Rock The Boat is a pretty greyish light blue with subtle shimmer, described by Essie as French blue. It's a very chic shade and perfect for a hot summer's day when you are in the mood for something calm. If you haven't yet checked out my Summer 2013 Collection blogpost, click here!
