LFW SS13 Day 4 - Streetstyle Part Two...

LFW Day 4 - Girl crush...
[the one in cat print pink shirt, obviously!]

When I turned over this girl stood right next to where I was sitting,
and even though I risked breaking my back as I had to really lean back to take this pic I though to my self - this Manolo Blahnik Something Blue satin pump Carrie Bradshaw wore when getting married to Big, a symbol of love - is a sign...
A sign that Love does exist, and any moment now it could be standing still right next to you...

...you take pic of me, I take pic of you...

Pixie Lott stormed in for the Mark Fast fashionshow...

LFW SS13 Day 5... There I was, with a full blown cold in bed... Hardly could get out of it... Hearing kids next door scream & cry made it even worse, the lady has a whole army of them... Why do people do that to themselves I have no idea, one or two is really enough... Anyways I am as grumpy as it gets, after all day sneezing my eyes out, my head feels like something out of steel... Even my cat is keeping a distance... If your cat won't be affectionate with you, who will... All I was capable of today is picking up my freshly printed business cards and getting Vicks nasal spray... All that misery, while LFW was still happening, it was the last day today... I wanted to shoot Streetstyle people going in for the Ashish fashionshow... But really I got so much done within those LFW few days that I will be busy till the end of the week sorting everything out... God, what is it with this damn sneezing...

It was my first time at LFW, getting involved that is... It was awesome! I wasn't sure what to expect, first day was info over-load... Meeting new people... Seeing the SS13 pieces at The Exhibition and talking to some of the designers... And of course hanging out at the courtyard Streetstyle hunting... Talking of which, at one point I over-heard a guy saying: 'The worst thing you could do at LFW is under-dress.' Hm, I'm not sure Coco Chanel would agree with that statement, but to me Streetstyle is not when you try hard to impress wearing a black square shaped box as a jacket or an orange wool confusion [which you can see in the previous blog post, last pic] - with all my respect, why would you want to look like a targeted bowl of spaghetti flew in your direction? Surely it's eye-catching and entertaining - but is it really fashion? When does fashion style stop being amazing and become amusing instead?

Of course if we all dressed the same it would be dull so we need a bit of Boy George now and then for a bit of colour... But I am not convinced those square box weird shoulders and the bowl of spaghetti outfits would turn up in the subway, or anywhere in a normal day to day life... To me Streetstyle translates as the real approach to fashion... You can jazz up any classy or smart outfit just like that girl with cute pink fur Louboutin heels and over-body bag... At the same time, to look chic and well put-together you don't have to spend thousands of cash, you can miraculously style up any cheap or affordable pieces to make the outfit look tasteful and expensive... What I was wearing to LFW was simple yet chic... Definitely under-dressed according to that guy... But I was comfortable, and stayed true to my self and my style...

Those few days were big fun but they were also quite exhausting... All the colours, all the patterns, everything mixed in one space - the courtyard, left you with a sickly sweet after taste... Just like your favourite childhood cake, the smell that's coming from the oven makes you buzz with the excitement and you cannot wait to bite into it, but with the fifth slice you realised you had a little bit too much... And although I'm looking forward to the next LFW in February 2013, for now I am glad LFW SS13 is officially over!
