Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic!

Created this bun with the Claire's Large Donut... The easiest way to get a neat looking bun in no time...
Just secure a ponytail on the top of your head and then pull it through the donut and arrange the hair around securing it into place with bobby-pins! They are so super lightweight that you don't even feel it!!

The earcuff is also from Claire's - a great way to be on-trend without the need of piercing your ears!

Wearing this Lancome Rouge In Love 181N Rouge Saint Honore, a beautiful blue toned red!
To see Midnight Rose and Corail in Love swatches of other shades click here!

For a while I had this beautiful bronzer on my wish list and last week I went to a Laura Mercier counter, swatched it and got it! It creates such a beautiful golden glow... The shimmer is very subtle so you can use it all over the face... I love the fact that it has the divided four colours you can either swirl your brush in all of them or use them separately... In the look above, and that's how I've been using it pretty much all the time since I got it - I blended the three darkest colours and used them to contour my face and also as a bronzer to warm up my complexion... Then I took the lightest colour and applied it as a highlighter on top of my cheek bones... And of course you can mix the colours and adjust them to your complexion, going lighter or darker according to your tan... I love this one! Apparently it looks really pretty as an eyeshadow too, which I am yet to try...

Chanel Fall 2012 Smoky Eye Look...

necklace: Claire's

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow palette in 38 Premier Regard
Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer lipgloss in 297 Sweet Beige
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 88 Noir Intense
- all from the Chanel Fall 2012 Collection

As promised, I have created a smoky eye look with the Chanel Les 4 Ombre eyeshadow palette in 38 Premier Regard, which is from the current Fall 2012 Collection - including the Stylo Yeux eyeliner  in 88 Noir Intense and Glossimer lipgloss in 297 Sweet Beige... The eyeshadow shades of this palette instantly attracted me, the taupy brown with the shimmery cream, and matte black are the colours I gravitate toward most when creating a smoky eye... The matte pale pink is a pretty shade as a highlighter... The colours look incredibly chic and flattering... I think it's one of my favourite Chanel eyeshadow palettes, so far! I also used the Long-Lasting Eyeliner above the upper lash line and along waterline to intensify the smoky eye, which is also a great intense black eyeliner that really lasts... I love a nude lip with the smoky eye, Chanel Glossimer in Sweet Beige was perfect for this look, a very elegant nude...

MAC Neutral Metallic Eyeshadows...

gold sequins collar necklace by Claire's...

TL: Sumptuous Olive - TR: Bronze
BL: Woodwinked - BR: Amber Lights

nails: Essie Good As Gold

This is my new MAC x4 Pro Compact Palette which I have filled with my favourite warm metallic neutral shades... These are great for the Fall 2012... Not only are they metallic but they are wearable, unless on course you want to go for the Prabal Gurung metallic eye look, which was inspired by "a bird's feather",  - said MAC make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury. In the pictures here I am wearing the Bronze eyeshadow, which I wanted to get a while ago, but Selfridges was out of stock.. In case you also want to see the Sumptuous Olive on, just click on it... It's a beautiful subtle olive green, which also will be happening big time this Fall... These colours I put together in this palette would be flattering on any eye colour!

Bright Summer Eye Look Trend...

With the excitement of another summery weekend(!) I decided to give the bright summer eye look trend a chance... Because who knows when we will have a warm summery day next time... I really wanted to try this summer's trend but every time the sun came out I kept forgetting about my bright palette... So I finally did it, Yay! I must say I am not that keen on wearing bright colours on my eyelids, but I think it's a fun look for a beach party or something along those lines... I certainly wouldn't cruise the streets of London with beaming bright teal eyes... Btw for some reason the colour didn't come out as bright on the pics as it is in real life... I used the intense teal eyeshadow in the third row...

The eyeshadows are very pigmented.. I think it's a great cheap way to experiment with colours, as the colour range is quite fun going from neutrals, to brights, and darks for the price-tag... You basically get 36 colours for the price of one MAC eyeshadow... This trend concentrates on one bright colour over the lid, nothing complicated... To keep it modern I used blue mascara and eyeliner on my waterline... Also keep the lips pretty bare and natural for this look as recommended by Lisa Eldridge in Elle UK Jul 2012... I have also tried to stay away from the blush, but I must admit it was impossible... Life is just too sad without blush...

Dark Beauty Autumn Trend...

If you are not from the Great Britain you may think it's too early to be considering autumn just yet... But we have been having all four seasons at once this summer... Sometimes even, all of the four seasons happen in one day, yes we are very lucky to live in UK - United Kingdom of bad weather... This autumn is all about darkness... You can't be all smiley and happy to pull off this look... It just won't work... This look kind of says 'don't mess with me, darling'... I find this type of look projects strength and distance - like you don't need or want anyone close to you right now... I think it's perfect for a girls night, when you just want the men to stay the heck away... Aren't we all in that mood sometimes... Ahem...

The palette I used to create this dramatic dark eye look is the YSL Noir Terriblement, it has 4 black eyeshadows with different level of shimmer and sparkles, going from sheer to more intense, and the white eyeshadow to highlight your brow-bone... On the lips I decided to go for a chic matte finish, I first applied MAC Brick Lip Pencil which is a burgundy red and on top Nars Valparaiso Pure Matte Lipstick, which is a beautiful plum... Plum is a shade you will be seeing a lot this autumn! And as for the ring, I couldn't think of anything better to go with this self-sufficient look... It's a fab black crystal claw ring by Claire's... The claw ring sits on the distal phalange [the top part of your finger] - perfect for the sharp-claw day!

What Did Meme Do Next...

Meme wore:
Zara Denim Skort [skirt & shorts in one]
Topshop Beaded Cross Necklaces
Chanel Ceramic Watch

Loving this whole grunge bohemian thing right now...
The very chunky ring with oval black stone: Claire's
[it's coming out in the first week of August]
...for make-up look I went with Vamp Chic - see previous blog post...

bad ass shoe... Heaton ankle grip platforms by KG

This beautiful dish is from Zara Home, I found it at their dishes section...
So I believe you can serve food in it...
I serve rings...

Here is the star of the programme... The reason I went to Zara Home... The soap dish!
It's a beautiful shell, rimmed with silver metal and it's got little teal stones on both ends...
I finally have a beautiful way to display my Lush soaps,
which I need to get more of as I am clearly running out...

No, Zara Home does not sell cats, yet!
This velvet orange cushion found a new home, I needed a bright spot on my bed,
as I have predominantly white sheets, and it's a beautiful burned orange...

Mr Barney got a new toy too,
although he is the nine year old senior fluff ball, he's still a baby at heart...
My baby boy is loving his new rattle teddy...

...this white ceramic jar, which has a woven texture, was in their bath section,
could be used for toothbrushes or anything really... I decided my dry rose bouquet will move to this jar for now... I love the shape of it as well, it starts off as a square at the bottom and then becomes round at the top...

Skincare: Chanel Ultra Correction Lift Serum, not only does it lift but it looks great too,
I love displaying it on my little round mood table...
Fragrance: This summer I have been Enjoying the L'Eau de Chloe...

...this was sold as a drinking glass, it's plastic and got that 3D illusion effect...
I loved the adorable funny-face pup, and decided it would hold my painting brushes...

This antique looking candlelight holder I got last week, also at Zara Home, naturally...

...beautifully decorated Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat's home in Brooklyn NY...

Meme went to Zara Home again, which she shouldn't have done! Oops too late... I literally shouldn't be allowed to enter this fabulous space... Yesterday I just took a brief walk in Hampstead, having dragged myself out of bed in the late hour as I had to have my beauty sleep after staying up very late the night before, I decided it was time to drop by and get that soap dish I have been eyeing for a while... Uhu... It didn't end there... They still have the sale going on, and some pieces have been marked down even further... I just love doing that kind of thing on a weekend, browsing home décor stuff... When it comes to home décor, my biggest icons are Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat, the photographer and fashion designer's decadent home in Brooklyn NY is so inspiring to me...The way one decorates their can reveal a lot about the person... Their character, creativity, spirituality shines through the pieces they choose to live with... I love that vintage bohemian style, to me it represents comfort, softness, beauty, chicness...

[All the home décor pieces I have featured including the toy are from Zara Home]

Vampy Chic...

...wearing Chanel ceramic watch,
which I have been really loving this summer!

Beaded Cross Necklaces: Topshop

Chunky Ring with Oval Black Stone: Claire's
[coming out first week of August]

Finally I got around to play with MAC Cranberry eyeshadow I purchased a while ago together with Antiqued and Coppering [read more here: MAC Pro Colour x 4 Compact...], which have become my top favourite eyeshadows, ever... I though Cranberry might have too much cold pink undertones for me... But it ended up being such a beautiful vampy velvet colour... It's perfect for that dark chic look... Cranberry made my grey eyes look almost green, this colour would be amazing for making green eyes pop, just like Coppering for blue eyes... I love taking it quite far down under my lower lashes and the inner-corner for extra drama...

With this look I love wearing Nars Sin blush [plummy colour with gold shimmer], not only is the colour perfect but so is the name... And as for lips, I applied Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout as recommended by Lisa Eldridge, and Lancome Piha Black lipgloss over it, it's a black with silver/black sparkles... I had this lipgloss in my collection for ages and couldn't make it work on me, but finally found a way to wear it and it looks stunning in real life... This limited edition Color Fever Gloss was created by Aaron de Mey, the fantastic makeup artist... Piha Blac was inspired by the black volcanic sands of Piha Beach in Aaron de Mey's native New Zealand... Isn't it just fabulous... Stunning little thing...
