Top 5 Autumnal Buys...

As it is the last month of autumn, which by now I don't want to end, although of course I love Christmas and snow and all the good things that come with it like cuddling up with a nice mug of hot chocolate watching Home Alone for the 59th time -I decided to get a few autumnal things before we go into the very cold winter... To me autumn is always about a nice pair of gloves, at this stage they still can have purely a decorative purpose... A tiny pair of gloves that just go upto the wrist are very flattering and perfect to pimp up any outfit...

Of course where there are gloves, there has to be socks... A cute pair of socks peeping out of your ankle boots is quite sweet and innocent, but depending on colour and pattern it can become stylish... These are angora blend, a dark brown, tan, and leopard print, they feel soft and cosy... You could also wear them in winter of course, but when it gets super cold I don't care what socks I wear as long as they are very thick and one tonal... The gloves and the socks are both from H&M... Talking of which the gloves are amazing quality, the cost is a little excessive for the label, I mean for twenty quid you can probably get there a winter coat...

By this stage having moved on from the bright or pale nail colours, painting your tips a dark shade in autumn is a very comforting thing to do... I'm not sure why, it just is! Regardless of the darkness of the autumnal nail polish shades the colour can still have a little pizazz, like this beautiful pine green featured here... Zoya Ray from the current A/W 2012 The New Colour of Fashion Collection  is my chosen one... To see how it looks on and to find out more about this collection that was inspired by NY Fashion Week 2012 click here...

As we are getting very close to the festive season, this palette is perfect not only for the autumn but also for celebrating Christmas and New Years! Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in 09 Odyssey is long lasting and can be used dry or wet to get a super intense colour pay off - which is fantastic for the coming celebrations! It's a stunning palette that would be great as a present, I will do a separate post with more info and a look this week, stay tuned!

And finally, there is no autumn without incense sticks, to me at least... It's not for everyone, you either love them or hate them, but I am an absolute addict... Which is why I was so happy to discover that Zara Home does incense sticks not only in a nice variety of scents but in White Jasmine!!! Jasmine is my favourite floral scent, there are no words to describe how much I love Jasmine flowers, it just puts me in the happiest state of mind... They also do candles and home fragrance in each scent... Incense sticks are great for meditating, or relaxing... I quite like burning incense sticks while I am having a bath...

Home Décor - Textures...

Home décor is one of my other passions... And the other day after making an appoint at Aveda salon in Hampstead I dropped by Zara Home... I love how often they rotate things... Every time you go in they have something new, something chic, something decadent, something baroque... I actually wanted to get a big candle holder, one of those glass vase with a metal stand type... I love them... They had a few but I couldn't find one that I fell for, instead I got a few other things I did fall for...

When it comes to home décor playing with textures and colours creates an interesting atmosphere... I always had a thing for tassels, I hang them on wardrobe knobs, or any knobs in fact, as long as they don't match... Those leopard print slippers are so glam, they kind of screamed my name before I even entered the store... Another thing I love are Zara frames, there is another one I'm eyeing and hope not to miss before they take it off the shelf... But this one is just stunning, I stood there mesmerised staring at it for a minute or two... It's got grey and dark blue crystals layered looking like petals, very unique and beautiful...

What Did Meme Do Next...

Meme wore:
Zara Denim Skort [skirt & shorts in one]
Topshop Beaded Cross Necklaces
Chanel Ceramic Watch

Loving this whole grunge bohemian thing right now...
The very chunky ring with oval black stone: Claire's
[it's coming out in the first week of August]
...for make-up look I went with Vamp Chic - see previous blog post...

bad ass shoe... Heaton ankle grip platforms by KG

This beautiful dish is from Zara Home, I found it at their dishes section...
So I believe you can serve food in it...
I serve rings...

Here is the star of the programme... The reason I went to Zara Home... The soap dish!
It's a beautiful shell, rimmed with silver metal and it's got little teal stones on both ends...
I finally have a beautiful way to display my Lush soaps,
which I need to get more of as I am clearly running out...

No, Zara Home does not sell cats, yet!
This velvet orange cushion found a new home, I needed a bright spot on my bed,
as I have predominantly white sheets, and it's a beautiful burned orange...

Mr Barney got a new toy too,
although he is the nine year old senior fluff ball, he's still a baby at heart...
My baby boy is loving his new rattle teddy...

...this white ceramic jar, which has a woven texture, was in their bath section,
could be used for toothbrushes or anything really... I decided my dry rose bouquet will move to this jar for now... I love the shape of it as well, it starts off as a square at the bottom and then becomes round at the top...

Skincare: Chanel Ultra Correction Lift Serum, not only does it lift but it looks great too,
I love displaying it on my little round mood table...
Fragrance: This summer I have been Enjoying the L'Eau de Chloe...

...this was sold as a drinking glass, it's plastic and got that 3D illusion effect...
I loved the adorable funny-face pup, and decided it would hold my painting brushes...

This antique looking candlelight holder I got last week, also at Zara Home, naturally...

...beautifully decorated Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat's home in Brooklyn NY...

Meme went to Zara Home again, which she shouldn't have done! Oops too late... I literally shouldn't be allowed to enter this fabulous space... Yesterday I just took a brief walk in Hampstead, having dragged myself out of bed in the late hour as I had to have my beauty sleep after staying up very late the night before, I decided it was time to drop by and get that soap dish I have been eyeing for a while... Uhu... It didn't end there... They still have the sale going on, and some pieces have been marked down even further... I just love doing that kind of thing on a weekend, browsing home décor stuff... When it comes to home décor, my biggest icons are Jamie Isaia and Anthony Malat, the photographer and fashion designer's decadent home in Brooklyn NY is so inspiring to me...The way one decorates their can reveal a lot about the person... Their character, creativity, spirituality shines through the pieces they choose to live with... I love that vintage bohemian style, to me it represents comfort, softness, beauty, chicness...

[All the home décor pieces I have featured including the toy are from Zara Home]
