Nait Trend: Neon Tribal Nailart!

Cheeky Dotting Tools in Medium

H&M Nail Polish in Why Not?

Rococo Nail Apparel in Funboy Matte

BarryM Nail Paint in BLE 2013 B 330 [not sure what that name is but it's Limited Edition]

BeYu [bi:ju:] in 318

Here is a bit of a fun summery tribal nailart look I came up with using the dotting tools and neons. I particularly like the white and black contrast up against the super bright neon pink and the tropical yellow! Here is how I did it: firstly, I always forget to mention but I start any manicure by applying one coat of OPI Nail Envy [the original] as a base, then I applied two coats of H&M Why Not?, I really like this white, it's milky and on a sheer side but has enough pigment and the application is great.

Then I started to add colours, dotting a triangle shape right at the base of the nailplate with Rococo Funboy Matte, it's a crazy bright neon. To divide colours I dotted a pattern with black [BeYu in 318] every time after adding a colour, you can be as creative as you want with it that's the beauty of nailart. And with tribal look it doesn't matter if you make a mistake, I prefer it when it doesn't look perfect, imperfection adds a character to this look! Next I dotted this beautiful BarryM tropical juicy yellow which is a Limited Edition and I have no idea what the name is, all it says on the bottom is BLE 2013 B 330, go figure... And finally the tribal nail look is completed with this funky uneven black edge. This look is not hard to recreate, but it does take time.

On Trend Beach Beauty Look: Bright Eyeliner!

Nails: Nails Inc. in Kensington Palace Gardens, from the SS13 Collection.
I have also reviewed the entire collection, so if you want to see the other five shades click here!

Apart from BB Cream and lipgloss I don't wear much make-up to the beach but when I'm in the mood for something a little more fun I like to pull out a bright eyeliner, which is one of the major beauty trends this summer and probably one of the easiest as well. Bright eyeliners can look really modern and chic if you keep the rest pretty simple and fresh! When I went to the Stila event a few months ago I really loved the double eyeliner look, the make-up artist applied the bright teal shade to a bare lid above the classic black, which was super original and inspiring.

To create this look I have firstly applied a thick line [keep in mind that half of it will be covered by black] with N7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner in Mermaid, which is a very bright shimmery teal, really beautiful shade! Then over the top I applied a black eyeliner as normal making sure it follows the same shape as the bright liner. For the black I went for Bourjois Liner Clubbing in Absolute Black, which dries matte and I really love the saturated intense matte black contrasting the bright shimmery teal! For the lip I kept it very natural with the new Bobbi Brown Tube Tint in Air Kiss.

I have done a full review on the Bobbi Brown Tube Tints with swatches of all four shades available, click here to check it out! And for the hair, to create this beachy wave all I do is the day I wash my hair I make a messy bun with one of those flat looking hairbands [I got mine at H&M] and sleep on it, in the morning I wake up to a fun looking curl which later relaxes into a pretty wave, and no need for any extra heat and curling tools!

Not a Saint or How to Wear Colour in Fall...

We have entered the last month of Fall... Fact... I have been wearing black for weeks... Fact... These colourful plasters are cool... Not a fact... [Btw I'm not sure if these are charity related, but on the side of the pack it says "Fashion Against Aids"]... Channeling M.J. plastered phalanges look is what came to mind when I saw the pack, although I'm sure his was more for a medical related reason than a trend-setting one... I am certainly not a fashion saint, because there is just one and only - Mr Karl Lagerfeld, but I do think it's a fun way to bring an accent of colour or pattern  to your autumnal non exciting look... It kind of feels wrong to pull out neons right now, although I saw the funnest pair of neon mittens, which would be perfect for a snowed in London to go with my white ski jacket... But that's in winter, until then no neons!

Luckily there are statement colours that look beautiful up against the golden, yellow, and red tones of the autumn... Autumnal colours that clash but still stay in the same warm scheme like this emerald green skirt, can infuse any dark outfit with a nice spark but still keeping it sophisticated... The skirt as well as the plasters are from H&M... Sometimes they come out with something that is high quality and with a super small price tag, so much so that it just makes your day! I mean this skirt could be easily hanging off the Whistles rack for x7 the price... And that is how I broke my black pattern... Black boots & tights I am keeping though, no-one will take me out of those!

Rose-Gold Bikini...

nails: Zoya Wednesday...

Last summer I was obsessed with rose gold, and actually still quite like it this year, especially with the summer approaching - here in London we are remaining hopeful that the summer will reach use eventually - as I am writing it's raining cats and dogs outside... Rose-gold is pretty flattering on sun-kissed skin, a lot more than yellow gold I find... I wore non-stop this rose-gold Fossil watch last summer... Because it's a lot cheaper than my other watches I am not scared to scratch it and can just be as careless as you can be during summer when sand might be involved...

Anyways lets concentrate on this gorge bikini... Mixing up your top and bottoms can result in something fun and fresh! Obviously metallics being one of the trends this summer - I went for a plane but metallic bottoms and a nice kind of futuristic print top, also a massive trend this s/s... The metal rose-gold detail ties the combo together... Where did I get it from? Somewhere I don't go very often but once in an odd while I tend to find a little gem in, H&M... Yes baby, you heard it right! And as for a pop of colour teal will be my most worn nail colour this summer no doubt, it works beautifully up against coppery/rose-goldy tones... Absolutely fabulous!

No Mambo Jambo...

H&M Nail Polish in No Mambo Jambo...

Currently I am on a hunt for bright yellow and teal nail polishes... I never liked too crazy colours on my nails, but this year my colour cravings migrated to Puerto Rico - I guess it must be the fact that we almost had no Spring in London this year, and after all those clouds and rain we all are starved for colours to brighten up our days!!

Last night I dropped by a friends place, thinking I was dressed in rather subtle colours - his first comment was 'wow you are bright!' I was wearing my current favourite pair of blue cropped pants, white tank top, denim shirt, white loose cardi, bright yellow over the body tiny bag, and a scarf that goes from grey to white and then lime/lemon neon... So really not that many colours! Ha!

Right now I'm totally protesting against black and other dark winter colours for day-wear!! So yes when I saw the No Mambo Jambo nail polish I was wowed! It's a duo-chrome teal with blue shimmer... Uhh!! It's the most amazing and unique teal nail polishes I have ever come across!! All the nail polish lovers have to check this one out, like NOW!!
