MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection: Deeply Adored...

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection just came out recently and it's a collection I was really looking forward to... I was obsessed with Monroe when I was studying 50s films, her make-up was, is and will always be iconic... The only time I can remember seeing Monroe with a nude lip is in The Prince and the Showgirl... Marilyn Monroe and red lips are like cupcakes and frosting, one can't be without the other... So of course lipsticks is what I was mostly interested in from the M.M. Collection... It doesn't come as a surprise that by the time I got to my MAC counter most items were sold out, including the red I wanted to get... Naturally, I couldn't leave without purchasing a lipstick, and so I went for the darkest shade Deeply Adored... It's a cliché, but of course I loved the name...

It's not quite a Monroe colour, in fact none of them except for that red one really were, I wish they came out with fantastic bright reds with orange or blue undertones, but intense just like Monroe wore them... But anyway, when I came home and applied it straight from the bulled it looked just like my grandmother's lipstick shade she used to wear, which is very sentimental to me, especially right now... So if only for that reason this lipstick will have a special place in my collection... Deeply Adored is described by MAC as deep scarlet, but it's more a plum with red undertones... In the pictures it looks more red bcs I infused it with red to stay true to Miss Monroe... To shift your plummy shade to a more red one you just need to apply a red lip pencil all over the lips as a base and then on top goes the lipstick, not only will that create a new and individual shade  but the lipstick will last a lot longer... Also all of the lipsticks from this collection are a matte finish...

Slightly off topic, but have you ever experienced this feeling of a relief when a movie date is suddenly cancelled? Well, I haven't had a cancellation before, nor did I spend two days agreeing on a cinema location, timing, etc... Something tells me one goes in hand with the other... I have literally never spent that much time choosing a holiday destination, let alone cinema location... This was the most complicated and exhausting cinema decision process of my entire life, there I say it... Two days is a lifetime, take Britney she got married and divorced... By the time the burdening movie date was finally set up I wasn't sure I wanted it any more, yet I felt cancelling would be an idiotic thing to do after that tedious process... So I'm glad I left it up to someone with expertise in that department... The second his cancellation came through was an epic moment of pure blissfulness and joy... Hallelujah(!) or shall I say Boop Oop a Doop!
