Bright Summer Colours - Corals!

For those who asked me about my outfit in the previous blog post! This is how I wear corals, it's an orange that I find incredibly flattering, instead of making you look dead like some bright colours can do, it makes you glow and look fresh! It's a nice way to introduce colour to your outfit when the weather is so-so yet you are sick of wearing dark colours, mind you it is mid June! So there you are black jeans with zip detail at the side on the bottom of the leg from beloved Zara, I am literally not allowed anywhere close to this store - this year they had one amazing collection after another, dan-ger-ous!!

Anyways, underneath the sweater I am wearing also a black body thing which has cut out net detail, pretty sexy, perfect to go underneath something to just reveal like one shoulder... I chose a lot of black to make this coral pop even more, also it kind of keeps the whole clean and chic, you don't want to confuse loud colours, let them speak for themselves... I actually quite like wearing things when possible off shoulder, it makes even the dullest old sweater look more interesting... Et voilĂ !

Estee Lauder Limited Edition Shimmering Sands...

wearing on face: Estee Lauder Shimmering Sands Bronzer

on eyes: Estee Lauder Bronze Sands Eye Palette
[this time I used two colours from that palette,
the chocolate all over the lid with the gold highlighting the brow bone,
for more info on that beautiful eye palette go to the previous blog post

Oh My Beauty! Estee Lauder came out this year with simply stunning pieces, I have not seen one beauty collector yet that hasn't got either the Shimmering Sands or Bronze Sands palette... Shimmering Sand, which is from their Bronze Goddess Capri Summer 2012 Collection, is a bronzer that gives you an all-over glow... In a few strokes you begin to look like you just came back from a week in Maldives, without any exaggeration... Powder, gel and liquid combined create this wonderfully smooth texture... It has pearl in it to illuminate your face giving you that sexy yet sophisticated luminosity! I am absolutely in love with this collection!

Iridescent Eye Dupe for Peridot...

Jessica Iridescent Eye...

Thanks to the Pixiwoo sisters Sam and Nic, I found out that Jessica does great Chanel nail polish dupes! I will link their youtube video right here... Basically Jessica Iridescent Eye is a dupe for the Chanel Peridot [Fall 2011 collection]... When Peridot first came out I found the colour interesting and loved how different it was to Chanel's usual nail colours, but I never was certain it would work on me... But because Jessica is half price compared to Chanel nail polishes, I decided to take a risk and finally get this colour! Funny enough on the day I went to pick up Iridescent Eye, I also saw OPI had exactly the same colour in their current Spider-Man Collection, called Just Spotted The Lizard... And also Ciaté Oil Slick is identical to Peridot... I actually ended up quite liking this colour, it's a golden/green metallic duo-chrome... It does clash with the outfit, so you kind of have to pick something that goes with it, but otherwise it's pretty cool..

Pixi Lid & Eye...

colour: No.6 Smoky Plum

This is one of those things that may not look like much in the box but definitely punches you [in a good way!] once you get it out! It's basically three in one, eye liner, smudger, and dry powder eyeshadow... When I first held the pen I must have been on a slow track as it took me a while to figure out that the middle bit was the powder end... But once I have made the Columbus discovery this liner pencil has grown on me... It is actually pretty awesome! If you think about it it's a sleek pen that miraculously creates a super easy smoky eye, perfect for when on the go, or when you don't feel like messing about too much... No need for extra brushes for smudging and blending, no need for separate eyeshadows... I followed the  suggested guidelines at the back of the package and this is how it came out, pretty simple! Great discovery this was!

Rose-Gold Bikini...

nails: Zoya Wednesday...

Last summer I was obsessed with rose gold, and actually still quite like it this year, especially with the summer approaching - here in London we are remaining hopeful that the summer will reach use eventually - as I am writing it's raining cats and dogs outside... Rose-gold is pretty flattering on sun-kissed skin, a lot more than yellow gold I find... I wore non-stop this rose-gold Fossil watch last summer... Because it's a lot cheaper than my other watches I am not scared to scratch it and can just be as careless as you can be during summer when sand might be involved...

Anyways lets concentrate on this gorge bikini... Mixing up your top and bottoms can result in something fun and fresh! Obviously metallics being one of the trends this summer - I went for a plane but metallic bottoms and a nice kind of futuristic print top, also a massive trend this s/s... The metal rose-gold detail ties the combo together... Where did I get it from? Somewhere I don't go very often but once in an odd while I tend to find a little gem in, H&M... Yes baby, you heard it right! And as for a pop of colour teal will be my most worn nail colour this summer no doubt, it works beautifully up against coppery/rose-goldy tones... Absolutely fabulous!

Zara Collection Shorts-Skirt...

This has been my uniform for the past couple of days! I adore this two-in-one piece by Zara and got so many compliments for the shorts-skirt that I decided to blog about before it's sold out! I was actually looking for a dark skirt in the exact shape, it's floaty, and kind of looks effortless but pretty with just some black tights and ankle boots, and because it's a light denim/pale blue you can go any way with it, either keeping it plain as I did with a black top or jazz it up with some quirky pattern blouse or Tee...

The shorts-skirt wears wonderfully! Super comfy, and the fabric is very soft, in fact it's one of those pieces you can easily wear all year around... As you can see on the pics from the front it looks like a skirt, if you flick that part of fabric on the left you can see the shorts... The way it's done is that one leg is a normal width short and the other is a wide creating an illusion of a skirt! And the bum looks like a simple pair of shorts... Got two faux pockets on the back, and two comfy real pockets on the sides, which I always love in a skirt, it's the cutest/coolest look when you can put your hands in the pockets of a skirt! I know this one is going to be one of their best sellers so run before it's gone!

Estee Lauder Limited Edition Bronze Sands...

Estee Lauder Limited Edition
Pure Color
Five Color Gelée Powder EyeShadow Palette
in Bonze Sands

Stunning!!

Isn't this the most grand looking eye-palette?! It doesn't only look incredibly luxurious it also feels fabulously velvety and gorgeous... I have been absolutely loving the new gelee formula Estee Lauder created! You can read more about this formula previously in my previous review last month, which can be used dry or wet for more intensity... I just checked online and it's sold out, so do hurry to your Estee Lauder counter if you love seductive eye-look like I do! This is really the only palette where I can use all the colours... Usually in any eye-palette I get there is always one colour that I'm not keen on.. Here I used the most daring colour of this palette to show you how user-friendly it is - the metallic teal blue!

Usually I stay away from colours on my eyes but this palette is so stunning that I love every single colour... In the pics I used three colours the middle [teal blue], uper-left [bronze], left-side [the highlighter] - all of the five colours are metallic for a seductive summer ahead! The other two colours are a gold and a chocolate... I used the blue teal all over the lid lightly and then applied the bronze over it in the v shape, also using both colours underneath the lower lash line, and the shimmery cream colour I used as a highlighter... As you can see the blue comes through gently yet makes the bronze eye-look a lot more interesting and there I say sultry! But you can create so many different looks, from something mild going into real intense pure colour blocking... Stunning, stunning, stunning!

Zoya Wednesday...

Yay(!) the sun came out today! So I thought this Wednesday will be the Zoya Wednesday! It's a really cool colour, not too bright but bright enough to make a statement... Today I am wearing a black blouse, black ankle boots and black tights, with a pale denim shorts-skirt, so Wednesday creates a nice pop of colour! It's a greenish teal which is kind of retro yet chic... And of course it's part of my favourite combination this summer, if only we had sun every day in London [at least during summer], teal and bronze are the best marriage ever! Wednesday is from one the current summer 2012 collection, it's divided in two , six colours each - the Beach Collection has lighter all cream finish colours, and the Surf Collection has essentially very similar six colours but a little more intense and with shimmer! I absolutely adore this nail polish, it's actually my first Zoya nail polish and the quality is amazing, very opaque, and looks flawless after two coats!

Avon Pastel Pink...

Another great Avon nail polish! It's a very pretty pale opaque pink shade...Very flattering on both nails and toes! Again, for those days when you don't feel like colour, yet it definitely has a presence... I generally love pastel colours during spring, it's a nice transition from the darks you wear during the winter... But also in summer with a sun-kissed skin pastel pinks look incredibly flattering... This Pastel Pink still looks great on pale or tanned skin...

Bliss Fabulips...

If you are on a hunt for a lip plumper here is a good one! Bliss is a company I only recently discovered after trying their amazing Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask, talking of which, having a date coming up in a few days it's time to shake that bottle baby! Having full lips, I'm in no need for a lip plumper but after  I was so impressed by that mask I decided to give it a go! Basically the idea behind their beauty products is that you can have a spa-experience at home without going to Bliss Spa... The lip plumper is a creamy gel kind of consistency... It's incredibly cooling on the lips with a tingling sensation... The lip plumper is milky with blue and pink iridescence which the camera doesn't pick up and in real life you have to look real closely to see it at all, so it does come out as clear on your lips... It definitely does what it says on the box!

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen...

These eyeliners are quite incredible! They apply as smoothly as silk and therefore are a dream to blend but once they dry they become budge-proof, perfect eyeliner for the summer! The colour range is pretty nice to choose from... This one is in Black Cocoa, which is a matte dark brown shade - your every day kind of colour... The other two really beautiful colours are the Cafe Gold, which is a shimmery antique gold and Deep Plum another great matte... And why not go crazy once the sun will be out again and go for the True Teal, a vibrant blue-green!

Avon Star...

Now that I have gone off the bright nail colours, not because I'm not enjoying them anymore but I tend to wear nail colours according to how I dress... Here in London being as cold and rainy as on some warm winter days I am back to wearing a lot of dark colours and jeans, more calm nail colours have been appealing to me in the past week or so... And I also started craving reds and other dark colours I tend to wear during winter... Anyways here is a very flattering pearlescent white by Avon... It's incredibly elegant... If you are a nail polish addict like I am chances are you already have quite a few Avon nail polishes, they really are great quality, and this one stayed for a good few days before chipping and that's with dish washing and everything... Talking of reds, my favourite red used to be the Avon Nailwear Real Red, it's a kind of retro/vintage red, I still have a bit left, not sure if it still is around as this bottle is quite a few years old by now, I always used it sparingly... If you haven't tried Avon nail polishes yet, I highly recommend them!

Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles...

Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar...

nails: Avon Star

If you've been reading my blog last month you will know about my Lush obsession... There are quite a few products that I truly enjoy and this is another addition to the desired list! Since it got cold again in London and we are as far from summer weather as I am from  wearing spandex neon pink leggings I found during my major spring-wardrobe-clean, this massage bar is just perfect if you want to warm up your muscles and kind of feel warm inside-out! It has a serious herbal scent, kind of reminds me on those chinese tiger balms to relieve muscles pain... But bare in mind the scent will stay on your whatever you will wear afterwards, so I generally wear a super un-sexy pyjama that I will just throw in the wash next day... So it's definitely not for every day use... I personally really like the scent when I've got a sore muscle and in the mood for some serious deep tissue massage, which the bean side of the bar helps with!

Deborah Lippmann No More Drama...

Deborah Lippmann No More Drama...

Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow...

Exclusive to House of Fraser...

As the weather cooled down massively after that little bit of summer heat we had in May here in London I have also changed my super bright nail colours to calm shades... I decided to go for a warm tone manicure... Taking the brightness down yet keeping an element of fun by applying one coat of Boom Boom Pow over two coats of No More Drama, which is the colour that Deborah created with Mary J Blige, hence the title... Having had quite a bit of drama in the past week I decided it was the perfect choice.. Boom Boom Pow is a luxurious gold glitter nail polish that is infused with real 24 Karat Gold Dust... It can be used on its own or over any nail polish to create a different look... If you'd like to know more about the goodness of Deborah Lippmann nail polishes please read my previous blog post on Deborah Lippmann On The Beach... So here we are, no more drama only boom boom pow!

Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl and Supercat...

top: Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Black Eyeliner Pen
bottom: Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner in Superblack

swatches:
top - Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl
bottom - Soap & Glory Supercat

Hi my loves! After a short break from beauty blogging here I am back with plenty of reviews to come! Now, who would have thought that Soap & Glory does decent make-up too... Previously I have blogged about my obsession with some of their bodycare products but I was quite surprised how good their make up products are, simply because I never associated Soap & Glory with make up... But, I especially enjoyed the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl, it's a perfect alternative to Avon Supershock  Gel Eyeliner... Its lasting power is amazing, as it says it is waterproof... You will need to work hard when taking your make up off - that's how waterproof it is, awesome for the summer!

Also worth mentioning, it comes with a sharpener attached, so you won't need to run around like a Tasmanian devil looking for a sharpener when you most need it! In the first pic I'm wearing both of the eyeliners, Smoulder Kohl on the waterline and then smudged out... And with Supercat it was pretty easy to create a winged out cat-eye! With this kind of eyeliner pen which has a felt-tip lip applicator it is very easy to create an immaculate looking cat-eye, great for beginners or when you are in a rush... Beginner or pro it's basically hard to screw up with!
